Equip Mountain Gorilla Rangers
Help Provide Basic Resources
Rangers and scouts are the eyes and ears of conservation efforts in AWF's Virunga Heartland (which spans Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Uganda), home to the world's 786 remaining mountain gorillas.
Groups of mountain gorillas are carefully watched around the clock by rangers to ensure that poachers don't strike. AWF has trained rangers to record a variety of information such as data on various animal species, habitat and water systems, and habitat-destruction activities like logging, charcoal burning and over-grazing.
After 10 gorillas were killed in 2007, these rangers need your help more than ever to receive basic equipment and resources to carry out their jobs on which the gorillas are depending. A small gift from you can go a long way for the gorillas and rangers in the Virungas.
Now there are more happy gorillas in the forest.
Your gift now will support AWF's work throughout the African continent and ensure Africa's wildlife and wild lands endure forever.
