Elephants consume about 5% of their body weight and drink 30-50 gallons of water per day. Young elephants must learn how to draw water up their trunks and pour it into their mouths.

Strengthening Zambia's Lower Zambezi National Park
A Park for the Future

AWF is working with the Zambia Wildlife Authority to pump life back into Lower Zambezi National Park, an area that is home to thousands of African elephants and other species. But the park lacks crucial resources to effectively manage its natural resources.

AWF needs your help to re-build this crucial park. The list is long, but the costs are low. New developments will strengthen the park and ensure that African elephants have a place to roam for centuries to come. Please help us to protect the future of this beautiful landscape.

Your gift now will support AWF’s work throughout the African continent and ensure Africa’s wildlife and wild lands endure forever.
